Local Attractions around Santo da Serra

Quinta da Junta, is an excellent park to visit in Santo da Serra. Best know for its large collection of camellias which alone are worth a visit. A large estate open to the public with many animals such as deer, horses, ducks and peacocks. Enjoy a picnic in the park and explore the woodlands with its many walks and breathtaking view over Machico valley and island of Porto Santo.

Located in Santo da Serra, right in front of the Golf Club, the Equestrian Center is composed of a covered arena with 450 m2, facilities for 21 horses and an outdoor area of 3.500 m2. Two monitors/teachers are available for classes in the academy or for experienced riders for beautiful mountain walks in the nearby woods.

This walk can be done on foot or with a bicycle as its level and not too difficult. The walk takes you from Santo da Serra to Camacha (14km) and then to Choupana where it finishes.
