Robert-Jan Derksen wins 13th Madeira Island Open Caixa Geral de Depósitos in Santo da Serra.
The Dutchman Robert-Jan Derksen was crowned champion of the 13th edition of the Madeira Island Open Caixa Geral de Depósitos, the biggest event that takes place annually on the island of Madeira.
After a long and extremely competitive day, Derksen only managed to get rid of his most direct opponents in the middle of the 18th with a brilliant birdie.
The Dutchman finished the race with 275 strokes (-13) with turns of 67, 70, 71 and 67.
In subsequent places were South African Andrew McLardy and Scotsman Gary Orr, both with 277 strokes (-11).
